Since its FDA approval in 2010, CoolSculpting has continued to be the leading choice in non-surgical body contouring, especially for those that are on limited time. In as little as one or two sessions, you can contour your body without any surgery, recovery time, or risk, all for a price that is a fraction of most surgical costs.
Yet there are other forms of non-invasive body contouring available that also have their benefits, which is why we at the Aesthetic Center of Orange County have several different options for those that want more control over their body shaping choices.
What is UltraShape?
UltraShape is very similar to CoolSculpting. Both involve no surgery – no cuts, no bleeding, and no risk. They are both relatively pain free, and both have been FDA approved for body contouring through years of scientific study and research.
But unlike CoolSculpting, UltraShape uses ultrasonic pulses, rather than cold, to eliminate fat. These pulses are very similar to the ultrasounds used to see infants in the womb. The UltraShape system focus those pulses into targeted points underneath the skin, directly at subcutaneous fat. It then vibrates fat cells at a frequency that is known to cause damage to fat cells without affecting any surrounding cells.
Once damaged, the cells are removed by your own body’s immune system over the course of 6 to 8 weeks, and body contouring is the result.
How UltraShape and CoolSculpting Compare
In Newport Beach, both CoolSculpting and UltraShape are popular, and both have an excellent history of body contouring success. Although similar in their results, both are different procedures that have value to different candidates.
CoolSculpting is highly effective, and it works in essentially only one appointment, delivering as much as 30 % weight loss in the targeted area or more.
UltraShape is also very effective, but it does takes 2 to 3 appointments, to achieve fat loss similar to CoolSculpting, on average.
Yet UltraShape does have some advantages:
- UltraShape does not require pinchable fat, and can be used almost anywhere on the body.
- UltraShape does not have any discomfort. CoolSculpting has some minimal discomfort.
- Ultrashape can be used on larger areas of the body.
UltraShape is quite popular, and in some cases is a great choice for the right candidates. For others, CoolSculpting (and DualSculpting) makes the most sense. Some of it depends on personal preference, while sometimes there are specific reasons that one may be a better choice than the other.
At The Aesthetic Center of Orange County, we believe that everyone deserves to choose the solution that works best for them, whether it’s personal preference or a specific aesthetic need. We’re also happy to provide feedback, and let you make the final choice about what’s right for you.
